New construction of the Datteln district heating pipeline

09.03.2018

Clean energy for the station. In May 2016, in the shadow of the new Datteln 4 power plant, one of the largest district heating projects of recent years was launched, which will result in the cost-effective supply of 100,000 households in the Ruhr area with environmentally friendly district heating.

New construction of the Datteln district heating pipeline

A complex large-scale project in modern pipeline construction, in which Max Bögl's supply and waste disposal business unit plays a major role in Arge. The new district heating pipeline, which runs from the new power plant via Castrop-Rauxel to Recklinghausen, is 13 kilometres long and runs largely along existing or former railway lines such as the König-Ludwig-Zechenbahn. Over a distance of about eleven kilometres, the transport pipeline disappears underground by means of plastic-coated pipes. In sections with a total length of two kilometers, heat-insulated, sheet metal-coated steel pipes are laid above ground in elevated construction.
