In time for Automechanika 2018, the new two-storey exhibition building with its impressive serrated glass and aluminium façade is to be opened. In the more recent history of Messe Frankfurt, internationally renowned architects such as Helmut Jahn, Oswald Mathias Ungers and Nicholas Grimshaw have given the exhibition grounds in the west of Frankfurt an unmistakable face. Today, an ensemble of ten individual buildings forms a complete work of different architectural styles from Art Nouveau, Bauhaus and Postmodernism - shaping the spirit of their respective times. With the new construction of Hall 12 based on designs by the Aachen-based kadawittfeldarchitektur office and the associated completion of the "Via Mobile", the trade fair's own covered transport and route system for visitors, Messe Frankfurt is now setting another architectural exclamation point on the approximately 592,000 square metre exhibition grounds.
