Ørestad on the island of Amager is the youngest district of the Danish capital and will offer living space for around 20,000 inhabitants until its final completion. Five kilometres from the centre of Copenhagen, the new district with its modern infrastructure, well thought-out parking policy, direct links to the most important local recreation areas and coherent urban, spatial and landscape planning will meet the high demands of sustainability and environmental compatibility in future.
Parking space on seven levels
Together with the location Denmark Max Bögl realizes the construction of the seven-storey building, executed with the own innovative parking garage system PSB. The group of companies was commissioned by the project development company By & Havn, which is also responsible for the planning and development of the entire residential area. Construction began in December 2016. After completion in November 2017, the multi-storey car park including ground floor and six additional parking levels offers around 620 parking spaces as well as additional parking spaces for motorcycles. The project is being implemented throughout using the BIM and Lean Management tools. As general contractor, Max Bögl is also planning and constructing the connection to the electricity, water and telephone networks as well as the access roads and pavements.
Exterior facade with special design
For the construction of the 85 metre long, 35 metre wide and around 20 metre high structure, the majority of the precast concrete elements, including floor slabs with non-slip embossing, were transported by train from the precast factory in Liebenau to the construction site. The car park, which is completely covered on the upper floor, is accessed via two counter-rotating up and down ramp spindles and contains two elevators and a toilet. A special "eye-catcher" is the façade: the outer skin is decorated with a brick wall with four different hole patterns as well as columns and beams. Between the brick posts, an expanded metal façade is additionally installed as a filling. The final greening of the multi-storey car park with various plants is based on a well thought-out planting concept.
