Upturn in the wind industry creates new order volume and jobs

Max Bögl Wind AG and turbine manufacturer Nordex extend cooperation agreement to include new N175/6.X turbine – The energy transition is gaining momentum: In the first half of 2025, the wind industry commissioned an exceptionally large number of onshore wind turbines. At Max Bögl Wind AG, the positive industry trend is reflected in two developments: the Bavarian tower manufacturer and wind turbine manufacturer Nordex Group have expanded their joint cooperation. In addition, the positive order situation is creating new jobs and paving the way into the wind industry.

Against the backdrop of a healthy order book, Max Bögl Wind AG and the Nordex Group have signed a new framework agreement for the coming years. The two companies have been working together for several years now and intend to further intensify their cooperation. "We are delighted that Nordex has chosen us as its reliable tower partner for its latest N175/6.X turbine. Our long-standing cooperation with Nordex is characterized by a trusting working relationship, which we are now continuing and expanding in order to jointly drive forward the energy transition," says Josef Knitl, member of the board of Max Bögl Wind AG.

Wind energy on the rise

The figures published in July 2025 by the German Wind Energy Association confirm the upward trend in the industry: 409 wind turbines were commissioned in Germany in the first half of the year – a record since 2017. A total of 7.8 gigawatts of wind energy capacity was approved during this period, an unprecedented amount in a first half-year.

José Luis Blanco, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nordex SE, explains: “In view of our positive market situation and the strong demand for our latest turbine, the N175/6.X with a capacity of up to 7 MW, we are relying on our excellent partnership with Max Bögl. This is a logical step within our multi-supplier strategy and in the interests of our customers: It will enable us to quickly meet further demand for hybrid towers by adding additional production capacity.”

The turbine manufacturer is also relying on Max Bögl's proven hybrid tower system for its new N175 turbine based on Delta4000 technology. Towers with a hub height of up to 179 m are planned for the turbine with an output of up to 7 MW. The first prototypes of this promising combination are scheduled to be implemented in 2026.

Growth creates jobs

The expansion of wind energy plants in Germany is also having an impact on the wind industry job market: the large order volumes and the associated capacity expansion are creating new career opportunities for skilled workers who want to actively support the energy transition. At the HusumWind trade fair from September 16-19, 2025, Max Bögl will be providing information about career prospects in the wind industry at its stand in Hall 4/4C14.
